2. Scope and definitions
2.1 Who we are and who this policy covers
This policy is issued by AwT Academy ("we", "us", "our"), an independent vertical of Animweb Technologies, which operates the website, the courses and the payments. It applies to every paid registration for a live online course, made by any learner in any country, at both fee levels (learners in India: ₹24,000 + 18% GST = ₹28,320; learners outside India: ₹30,000 + 18% GST = ₹35,400).
2.2 How this policy fits with our other terms
- This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions. You accept both when you tick the consent box on the registration form. If the Terms & Conditions and this policy differ on a refund, cancellation, switch or transfer, this policy applies.
- Personal data you share with a request is handled under our Privacy Policy.
- Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded by contract.
2.3 Definitions
- Amount paid
- The total you paid for one registration: the course fee plus GST.
- Batch start date ("day 1")
- The date of the first scheduled live session of your batch, as communicated to you by the academy.
- Calendar day
- Any day, including weekends and public holidays. Day 2 is the day after the batch start date, and so on.
- Course fee
- ₹24,000 for learners resident in India, or ₹30,000 for learners resident outside India, excluding GST.
- Cancellation request
- A request sent through one of the channels in section 11, containing the information listed there.
- Transfer
- Moving your registration to a later batch of the same course or, where allowed, another course.
- Course switch
- Changing your registration to a different course in place of the one you booked.
2.4 How we count days and times
- Days are counted in calendar days, with the batch start date as day 1.
- The day that applies is the day we receive your cancellation request, judged in Indian Standard Time (IST, UTC+5:30). A request received at 11:30 pm IST on day 4 counts as day 4.
- Attending, or not attending, live sessions does not change which day applies.
3. Canceling before the batch starts or within the first 4 days
3.1 What you receive
If we receive your cancellation request at any time before the batch start date, or on day 1, 2, 3 or 4 of your batch, we refund 100% of the amount paid: the full course fee and the full GST. There is no cancellation fee, no administration fee, no gateway-charge deduction and no other deduction.
3.2 Before batch dates or timings are confirmed
You may cancel at any time between your registration and day 4 of your batch, including before we have told you your batch dates or confirmed your preferred timing. Your registration counts as canceled from the date we receive your request.
Worked example. You live in India and pay ₹28,320 (₹24,000 course fee + ₹4,320 GST). Your batch starts on a Monday (day 1). On Thursday (day 4) you decide the course is not right for you and WhatsApp us your request. You receive the full ₹28,320 back. A learner outside India who paid ₹35,400 in the same situation receives the full ₹35,400 back.
4. Canceling on day 5, 6 or 7
4.1 What you receive
If we receive your cancellation request on day 5, 6 or 7 from the batch start date, we refund 50% of the course fee plus the GST attributable to that 50%. The other 50% of the course fee, and the GST on it, is retained.
4.2 How the partial refund is calculated
Because GST is a fixed percentage of the course fee, the refund is exactly half of the amount paid: half of the course fee and half of the GST shown on your invoice.
| Fee level | Amount paid | Refund on day 5, 6 or 7 |
|---|---|---|
| Learners in India | ₹28,320 (₹24,000 + ₹4,320 GST) | 50% of ₹24,000 plus 50% of ₹4,320 |
| Learners outside India | ₹35,400 (₹30,000 + ₹5,400 GST) | 50% of ₹30,000 plus 50% of ₹5,400 |
4.3 Access after a partial refund
Once a partial refund is approved, your registration ends. Your access to live sessions, class links, materials and the course community stops, and no Certificate of Completion is issued.
Worked example. Your batch starts on a Monday (day 1). On Saturday (day 6) you ask to cancel. You receive 50% of the course fee (₹24,000 for learners in India, or ₹30,000 for learners outside India) plus the proportionate GST, which is exactly half of the amount you paid. The other half is retained, and your registration ends.
5. Canceling on day 8 or later
5.1 No refund
If we receive your cancellation request on day 8 or any later day, no refund is payable, in full or in part (0%). By then the batch is well under way, your seat cannot be offered to another learner, and teaching, materials and support have been committed to you.
5.2 Discretionary one-time transfer
We understand that serious, unexpected events happen. If you can no longer continue, you may ask for a one-time transfer to a later batch. This is entirely at our discretion and subject to seat availability. If granted, the transfer must be used within 6 months of your original batch start date, and it lapses if unused.
5.3 What a discretionary transfer is not
A discretionary transfer is not a refund. It has no cash value and cannot be converted into money, passed to another person or combined with any other transfer.
6. If we cancel or postpone a batch
6.1 When this section applies
- We cancel your batch before or after it starts; or
- we postpone the batch start date by more than 30 days from the date we first communicated to you.
6.2 Your choice
- A 100% refund of the entire amount paid (course fee + GST), with nothing deducted; or
- A free transfer to a later batch of the same course or of another course at the same fee level, subject to seat availability.
If you choose a transfer but none of the batches we can offer starts within 6 months of your original batch start date, you may still choose the 100% refund instead at any time before the new batch starts.
6.3 How we tell you
We will tell you by WhatsApp, phone or email as soon as reasonably possible, explain the change and ask for your choice.
6.4 Shorter postponements and rescheduled sessions
A postponement of 30 days or less, or the rescheduling of individual live sessions with notice, does not give a right to a refund under this section. The normal rules in sections 3 to 5 continue to apply, counted from the new batch start date.
7. Switching to a different course
7.1 A free switch, once
You may switch your registration to any other course free of charge, once, provided we receive your request before the batch starts or within the first 4 days of the batch. Every course has the same fee at your fee level, so there is nothing extra to pay and nothing to refund.
7.2 Conditions
- Switches are subject to a seat being available in a batch of the new course.
- After a switch, the day counting in sections 3 to 5 restarts from the batch start date of the new course.
- From day 5 onward a course switch is not available, unless we agree to one as part of a discretionary transfer under section 5.2.
8. Batch transfers and deferrals
8.1 When a transfer is available
| When | What is available | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Before the batch starts | One deferral to a later batch of the same course, at no extra cost | On request, at our discretion and subject to seat availability (you may instead cancel for a 100% refund under section 3) |
| Day 8 onward | One-time transfer | At our discretion, under section 5.2 |
| When we cancel or postpone by more than 30 days | Free transfer as an alternative to a 100% refund | Your right under section 6 |
8.2 Conditions that apply to every transfer and deferral
- Once per registration. A registration can be transferred or deferred only once. A second move is possible only if we ourselves cancel or postpone the new batch (section 6).
- Within 6 months. The new batch must start within 6 months of your original batch start date.
- Personal. Fees are per learner and non-transferable. A transfer moves your registration to a later batch. It cannot pass your seat to another person.
- No extra cost. No transfer or deferral fee is charged.
- Unused transfers lapse. If you do not join the batch you confirmed, or do not use a granted transfer within 6 months, it lapses and no refund is payable. Transfers chosen under section 6 keep the refund option described there.
8.3 Your refund rights after a move
- Deferral before your batch started: the refund rules in sections 3 to 5 apply again, counted from the new batch start date.
- Discretionary transfer from day 8 onward: the transfer is given in place of a refund. The new seat is not eligible for a later cash refund, except under section 6.
9. Failed, pending and duplicate payments
Please do not pay twice. If the checkout shows an error, closes unexpectedly or you are not sure whether a payment went through, first check your bank or UPI app and your email for a confirmation from Razorpay. Then contact us on WhatsApp with the details before you try again.
9.1 Payment failed, but money was debited
Your registration is submitted to us only after Razorpay confirms your payment. If your bank debits your account but the payment is not confirmed, the payment is treated as failed. In that case, the amount is reversed automatically by your bank or Razorpay, typically within 5–7 working days. You do not need to request this, and nothing is deducted.
If the money has not returned after that period, contact your bank with the transaction reference. Let us know as well, with your Razorpay Payment ID if you have one, and we will help trace it through Razorpay.
9.2 Payment pending or processing
Occasionally a bank or UPI app shows a payment as “pending” or “processing”. Please wait and do not retry. The payment will either be confirmed (you then receive a receipt and Razorpay's confirmation email) or reversed automatically as described in 9.1.
9.3 Duplicate payments
If you pay more than once for the same registration, your first successful payment secures your seat and every duplicate payment is refunded in full, including GST and gateway charges, with nothing deducted. Our website also remembers completed orders to help prevent duplicate submissions. If we notice a duplicate payment, we will contact you and refund it even if you have not asked. Duplicate refunds are initiated within 7 working days of verification.
9.4 Payment confirmed, but registration not completed
If your receipt says your payment is confirmed but your details could not be delivered to our team, your payment and your seat are safe. Do not pay again. Send us your Registration ID and Razorpay Payment ID on WhatsApp, and we will verify the payment with Razorpay and complete the registration for you. All the rules in this policy then apply in the usual way.
9.5 Payments you did not authorize
If your card, account or UPI ID was used to pay us without your permission, contact your bank immediately and inform us. We will suspend the related registration while the matter is investigated and cooperate fully with your bank and Razorpay, providing the records they need. Any amount found to be due is returned only to the original payment method (section 12.2).
10. When no refund is available
Apart from the situations in sections 3, 4, 6 and 9, no refund is payable. In particular, no refund is payable in these cases:
- Removal for misconduct or violation of the Terms. If we remove a learner for serious misconduct or breach of our Terms & Conditions, for example harassment, abuse, cheating, or sharing personal class links or course materials, no refund is payable.
- Non-attendance. Missing sessions, joining late or not attending at all is not a cancellation and does not give a right to a refund. To cancel, you must send a request under section 11.
- Technical issues on your side. Problems with your own device, internet connection, power supply or software are not grounds for a refund. Live classes need a laptop or desktop computer, a stable internet connection and a modern browser. Please check your setup before your batch starts, and ask us if you are unsure.
- Requests from day 8 onward. Cancellation requests received on day 8 or any later day from the batch start date are not eligible for a refund (section 5).
This section does not affect your rights under section 6 (if we cancel or postpone), section 9 (failed and duplicate payments) or the law (section 2.2).
11. How to make a request
11.1 Who can make a request
Requests should come from the learner, using the mobile number or email address given at registration. For a learner under 18, the request must be made or confirmed by the parent or legal guardian named in the registration (section 14). To protect you, we may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request, for example by replying from your registered contact details.
11.2 Information we need
- Your Registration ID (on your on-screen receipt);
- your Razorpay Payment ID (beginning with
pay_, on your receipt and in Razorpay's confirmation email); - your registered full name and email address;
- the reason for your request (a sentence or two is enough); and
- what you would like: a refund, a transfer or a course switch. For a transfer or switch, also tell us your preferred course and batch timing.
11.3 Where to send it
- WhatsApp: message us on +91 62830 97869. We recommend WhatsApp because it gives you a written, time-stamped record of your request date.
- Phone: call +91 62830 97869 or +91 94652 65663. If you call, we will confirm your request in writing. If we miss your call, please follow up with a WhatsApp message so the request date is recorded.
11.4 What happens next
- Acknowledgment: we acknowledge your request within 48 hours.
- Verification: we check your registration, payment and request date against our records and Razorpay's, and contact you if anything is missing.
- Decision: we send you our decision in writing within 7 working days, with the amount and how it was calculated, or the batch you are moving to.
- Refund initiated: approved refunds are initiated within 7 working days of approval, and we share the refund reference with you.
- Credit to your account: your bank typically credits the refund 5–10 working days after it is initiated.
Protect yourself from refund fraud. To process a refund we will never ask for your card number, CVV, expiry date, OTP, UPI PIN or net-banking password. We will never ask you to install a screen-sharing or remote-access app, scan a QR code or approve a UPI “collect” request. Receiving money never requires your PIN. Refunds are sent only to your original payment method. If anyone contacts you about an AwT Academy refund from a number other than +91 62830 97869 or +91 94652 65663, do not respond, and tell us.
12. Timelines and how refunds are paid
12.1 Our service timelines
| Stage | Timeline | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Acknowledgment of your request | Within 48 hours | On WhatsApp, or by email where available. |
| Decision on your request | Within 7 working days | Counted from the day we have all the information in section 11.2. |
| Refund initiated | Within 7 working days of approval | We share the refund reference with you. |
| Credit to your account | Typically 5–10 working days after initiation | Set by your bank. International cards may take longer. |
| Reversal of a failed payment | Typically 5–7 working days | Automatic, by your bank or Razorpay. No request needed. |
| Grievance | Acknowledged within 48 hours; resolved within 30 days | See section 17. |
12.2 Original payment method only
For your security and in line with payment-network rules, refunds are paid only to the original payment method, through Razorpay. We cannot pay refunds in cash, by check or bank draft, to a different bank account, card or UPI ID, or to another person.
- UPI: credited to the bank account linked to the UPI ID used for the payment.
- Debit or credit card: credited to the same card. On a credit card it appears as a credit on your statement.
- Net banking: credited to the same bank account.
- Wallet: credited to the same wallet.
12.3 International cards
All fees are charged in Indian Rupees, and refunds are made in INR, the currency of the original charge. Your card issuer converts the amount into your currency at its own rate on the date of the refund, which may differ from the rate used when you paid. Differences in exchange rates, and any foreign-exchange, cross-border or other charges imposed by your bank, are not compensated. International refunds can take longer than the typical timeline above to appear on your statement.
12.4 No gateway-charge deductions
We do not deduct payment-gateway charges from any refund under this policy. Automatic reversals of failed payments are made by your bank or Razorpay in full.
12.5 If your card or account has been closed
If the original card has expired or been replaced, or the account has been closed, banks usually still route the refund to you, for example to the linked account. Contact your bank with the refund reference we share. Because refunds can go only to the original payment method, we cannot redirect a refund ourselves, but we will provide any confirmation your bank needs.
12.6 Tracking a refund
Once a refund is initiated, Razorpay processes it to your bank. If it has not reached you after the typical period, share the refund reference with your bank first. Your bank can trace it using that reference. If you still need help, contact us and we will check its status with Razorpay.
13. GST, invoices and credit notes
13.1 GST on course fees
Course fees are exclusive of GST. GST is charged at the rate prescribed under Indian law, currently 18%: ₹4,320 on the ₹24,000 course fee for learners in India (total ₹28,320), and ₹5,400 on the ₹30,000 course fee for learners outside India (total ₹35,400). A GST-compliant tax invoice is issued to your registered email address. If you entered a GSTIN at registration, the invoice is issued in the name of that business.
13.2 GST is refunded in proportion to the fee
| Situation | Course fee refunded | GST refunded |
|---|---|---|
| Cancellation before the batch starts or on days 1–4 | Full course fee | Full GST, with nothing deducted |
| Cancellation on day 5, 6 or 7 | 50% of the course fee | 50% of the GST paid |
| Batch canceled by us, or its start postponed by more than 30 days | Full course fee | Full GST, with nothing deducted |
| Duplicate payment | The full duplicate amount | Included in full |
| No refund payable (section 5 or section 10) | None | None |
13.3 Credit notes
Where Indian GST law requires it, we issue a credit note for the refunded value. It refers to your original tax invoice and is sent to your registered email address. If your invoice carried a GSTIN, the credit note will carry the same GSTIN. Your business is responsible for any adjustment to its input tax credit that GST law requires as a result.
13.4 Change in GST rate
GST on a refund is calculated at the rate actually charged on your original invoice, even if the prescribed rate changes later.
14. Learners under 18
- The minimum age for learners is 10. Learners under 18 need the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, which is collected in the registration form (see Privacy Policy: children).
- Refunds are paid only to the original payer, through the original payment method. They are never paid to the learner separately, to another account or in cash.
- Requests for a refund, transfer or course switch for a learner under 18 must be made or confirmed by the parent or legal guardian who consented to the registration. We will confirm with them before acting on any request.
- All other rules in this policy apply in the same way.
15. Chargebacks and payment disputes
15.1 Please contact us first
If you have a concern about a payment, please contact us before you raise a dispute or chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Most issues can be resolved directly and much faster this way, and it avoids your access being interrupted.
15.2 Effect of a chargeback
Raising a chargeback suspends your access to live sessions, class links and course materials while it is investigated.
15.3 How we respond
We respond through Razorpay with the records needed to explain the transaction. These may include your registration details, Razorpay's payment confirmation, your acceptance of our Terms & Conditions and this policy, attendance records and our communications with you. We share only what the dispute process requires, as described in our Privacy Policy.
15.4 Outcome
- If the chargeback is decided in your favor, the amount returned to you is the final settlement of that payment. Your registration ends, and no further refund is due for the same payment.
- If the chargeback is decided in our favor, we restore your access for the remainder of your batch, if it is still running.
- The same amount cannot be recovered twice. If you receive both a refund from us and a chargeback for the same payment, the duplicate amount must be returned, and we may take lawful steps to recover it.
For payments you did not authorize, see section 9.5.
16. Offline (classroom) classes
- Offline classroom batches are planned only for learners in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula. They are coming soon, and no launch date has been announced.
- Offline classes cannot be booked or paid for yet, and no fees are collected for them. There is therefore nothing to refund.
- Before we accept any payment for an offline batch, we will publish the fees, terms and refund rules that apply to it, either as a separate policy or as an update to this one.
- Registering for a live online batch does not reserve a seat in a future offline batch.
- Please do not pay anyone for offline classes now. If anyone asks you to, do not pay, and let us know on +91 62830 97869 or +91 94652 65663.
To be told when offline batches open, register your interest.
17. Grievance Officer
If you are not satisfied with how your request was handled, or with any decision under this policy, you may contact our Grievance Officer:
Manish MishraManaging Director & Head, AwT Academy
AwT Academy, an independent vertical of Animweb Technologies
Phone / WhatsApp: +91 62830 97869 or +91 94652 65663
Please include your Registration ID, Razorpay Payment ID and a short description of the issue. In line with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, we acknowledge every grievance within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days of receipt.
If you are still not satisfied, you remain free to pursue any remedy available to you under law. In India, that includes approaching the consumer commissions established under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. This policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes are first addressed through good-faith discussion for 30 days and then by the courts having jurisdiction over the registered office of Animweb Technologies, as set out in our Terms & Conditions. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
18. Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in law, in our payment processes or the launch of offline classes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
- The version in force on the date of your registration governs that registration. A later change will not reduce your rights under an existing registration, unless the law requires the change.
- Where a change is more favorable to learners, we may apply it to existing registrations as well.
- We will inform learners with active registrations of any material change through their registered contact details.
- Earlier versions of this policy are available on request.
Version effective 21 October 2026. Applies to every registration made on or after that date.
